I love a perfectly located hotel that’s also perfectly tucked away. The Hotel Giraffe is an urban oasis located in the heart of one of my favorite NY neighborhoods, nomad, between downtown and midtown. Hotel Giraffe embodies the graceful elegance, strength, and beauty as well as the legendary kindness found in one of nature’s most beloved animals.
My stay was during the morning of the first blizzard of 2016 and when I woke up I immediately stepped out onto the balcony to take in the beginning of the storm. The guestrooms also include antique-rose velveteen upholstered chairs that were perfect to curl up in as I drank my morning coffee. Black and white original photographs from the ’20s and ’30s cover the pearlized platinum walls and add a touch of glamour to each guest room.
Apart from the complimentary daily breakfast and wine & cheese reception in the evenings, the hotel is connected to a lovely restaurant, Bread & Tulips. This cozy neighborhood spot serves rustic Italian food and guests can enjoy 20% when dining here!
Hotel Giraffe is steps away from Madison Square Park and the iconic Flatiron building making it the perfect hotel for sightseeing.
