My first NYFW was a lot like how I always imagined what being on the Survivor would consist of: stress, food and sleep deprivation and a competitive nature most people could never survive.. but what I walked away with was a lot of lessons learned and the urge to return every season from here on out more determined than I was before. I walked away realizing I could not only survive but also thrive. So below I will provide the best recap I can of the best week of my life.
Our first day was as UN-glamorous as it gets. I met Jessika outside of her house at 5am to unknowingly not arrive in New York City for another 15 hours.
We were so thankful to be hosted by the Atrio at The Conrad that evening and enjoyed much needed drinks, hearty meals and scrumptious desserts. We missed meetings, shows and content that day but thankfully were able to turn everything around the next day.

We woke up well rested and ready to take on New York Fashion Week! We geeked out a little on our terrace from the views before hopping in our car and heading out to our first showroom pull with Pologeorgis. Their showroom was everything I could of ever imagined, the colorful furs draped over sofas and displayed made me feel as if I had just entered a whole other world.. which in a way I did. We pulled Valentine’s inspired slippers, staple furs, matching furs, furs that could of survived in Wonderland.. that is if Alice was into couture. Every fur we pulled sparked new and fascinating inspiration that we were bound and determined to capture.
Afterwards we met with a few PR companies and did a spontaneous shoot in SoHo before heading back to the hotel for a quick outfit change.
That evening we took a not so brief stroll to The London Bar for a dinner that was being prepared specifically for us by the head chef. As this was the only meal we had eaten that day we could understand why models are so skinny.. they never have time to eat! The meal was a decadent 5-course meal to where each course was even better than the one before it. My favorite part was the Cheese & Charcuterie plate and their blood orange cocktail.
After dinner we stopped by The Black Panther press event and enjoyed meeting the cast, walking the red carpet and attending the downstairs after party that felt as if it was a scene right out of the movie! We found ourselves in a quaint, somehow completely empty, wine bar across the street where we did a spontaneous photo shoot, played bartender and drank a few too many of our own concoctions. All in all, it was the perfect first night in New York City!
Tuesday morning was my favorite morning by far. We did a super fun Valentine’s shoot with Pologeorgis that consisted of running around our terrace in fur slippers, nibbling on Laduree macaroons and laughter that never completely stopped.

Afterwards we sadly said our goodbye’s to The Benjamin and headed to the end of the block to check in to to The Fifty hotel. Our room was thankfully all ready prepared for us so all we had to do was grab the chic room key and head on up to the top floor where a bottle of champagne and gorgeous suite was waiting for us!
We did a quick shoot around the city before heading to meet with the super sweet girls at Socialfly. Our meeting was such a relief from the craziness of fashion week, we laughed, shared hilarious stories and discussed the benefits of working together. Afterwards, we literally ran to the Carlisle show where I realized the nuisance of paparazzi (never thought I would say that)! The show was amazing and the collection was even more so.
We ended the night with our last and my favorite event, Vintage for the Future: A Norma Kamali Retrospecitve by What Goes Around Comes Around. Not only was her collection spectacular but so was the unprecedented fashion show that took place inside! Everyone who was anyone was there and they all were dressed to impress. Some of the attendees were top magazine editors, designers and bloggers but my favorite moment was rubbing shoulders with Jenny Cipoletti from Margo and Me and James Nord!
After getting a blowout by the amazing Marco at the Frederico Salon, our day was filled with nothing but shows and shooting. I attended All Comes From Nothing, Leanne Marshall, and the Marcel Ostertag Presentation and did mini shoots in between! Around 6pm we wrapped up our evening and celebrated surviving FW by popping champagne off our terrace, exploring the best parts of Midtown and stumbling upon a delicious Italian restaurant to celebrate an impromptu Galentine’s date. The last highlight of our trip was being driven back to our hotel for the last time by a fashion designer who took us by every department store on fifth avenue and gave us tips and homework to take back with us!
This is just a small peak into our fashion week adventures but we can not wait to return next season and absolutely kill it! Thank you all for the support and keeping up with our adventures on social media!
We can not thank The Benjamin and The Fifty hotel enough for hosting us during our stay. The staff was kind, the service was impeccable, the beds were heavenly and the views from our suites were to die for.
