The Fourth of July is nearly upon us, and you can always expect 3 things no matter where you are celebrating: bbq, fireworks and our nation’s colors.
Finding what to wear is always a daunting task due to the restricted color palette, but after all it is Independence Day, so I urge you all to be independent with your patriotic style by not picking up and wearing the first American flag piece of clothing you find.
I am celebrating the Fourth in the Colorado mountains which means a totally different ensemble is needed. During the day it is a perfect 70 degrees, perfect for bbq-ing and day drinking. However, as soon as the sun sets and the fireworks begin the temperature drops to the low 50’s, which means unless you have a chic red sweatshirt your patriotic outfit will only be seen during the day. This year however, I found the perfect balance. This breezy sweater is cool enough to wear all day and warm enough to prevent me from shivering all through the night activities.
